Next level hospitality TV control: PPDS partner Otrum develops Mirage SaaS platform onto Philips MediaSuite hotel TVs

NEWS Article

Presenting a new standard in screen management: Otrum’s Mirage SaaS (software as a service) platform, allows hoteliers to take complete control of their Philips MediaSuite TVs, with unparalleled levels of on-screen customisation and seamless integration of external third-party applications.

PPDS, the industry’s leading provider of advanced professional displays and solutions, is delighted to announce that Otrum’s cloud-based hotel TV platform and interface, Mirage, is now fully compatible with Philips MediaSuite TVs.

Founded in 1985, SaaS (software as a service) provider, Otrum, is a recognised leader in the hospitality world, specialising in creating innovative low latency and guest centric control and management TVNext level hospitality TV control: PPDS partner Otrum develops Mirage SaaS platform onto Philips MediaSuite hotel TVs software solutions, with its products featured in all leading hotel chains across the planet.

Part of its ongoing partnership with PPDS, Otrum has developed its new, highly cost-effective Mirage platform to be fully compatible and to integrate seamlessly with both new and existing Philips MediaSuite hospitality TVs (5014, 6014, 5114U, 6114U).

No limitations

Combined with Philips MediaSuite’s already extensive, market-leading and customer-centric features and capabilities – including Chromecast built-in™ and user data analysis – Mirage, powered by Amazon Cloud Services and the Amazon CloudFront CDN, brings unparalleled levels of customisation, branding and personalisation to hoteliers. This important partnership allows hoteliers to take full control of their TVs in order to meet their exact needs and requirements, both on a presentation and performance level, for the ultimate guest experience.

Designed to be API centric at its core, Mirage makes the process of adding external third-party sources such as Netflix (embedded on MediaSuite) and other streaming platforms (including premium content) and services to TV screens, a simple one.

Jeroen Verhaeghe, International Business Manager at PPDS, commented: “Otrum’s Mirage for Philips MediaSuite takes the control and management of guest room TVs to new levels, bringing a truly advanced, customised experience to hotels.

“When we started developing MediaSuite back in 2014, we wanted to bring a product to market that removed limitations to overcome many of the frustrations our partners and their customers (end users) have historically faced with their hotel TVs. We don’t believe in compromise, so it’s important to provide the market with a choice of solutions, allowing them to choose what works for them. Chromecast built-in is one of those solutions that brings added functionality to the range and Otrum’s Mirage offers yet another way to integrate that directly over the hotel network without the need for a WiFi hotspot in each room.

“Our key strategic partnership with Otrum is another great example of our commitment to developing products and solutions with the best interests of the customer at their core.”

  • Simple login and administration via web
