PPDS partners with TV mounting specialist Glamox to bring advanced comfort and personalised viewing requirements to hospital patients

HEALTHCARE Article

Partnership with global display mounting specialist combines PPDS’ dedicated Philips Bedside TVs for healthcare environments with Glamox’s ergonomically designed Luxo Maximum self-balancing arm to meet the precise viewing requirements of patients.

Amsterdam, December 2021: PPDS, the AV industry’s fastest growing provider of total digital signage, LED display and professional TV solutions, is excited to announce a new partnership with display mounting specialist, Glamox, to bring advanced comfort and personalised viewing experiences to hospital patients with its medical grade, Chromecast™ built-in Philips Bedside TV range.

Part of PPDS’ ongoing ‘Total Solutions’ strategy, strategically pairing its best-in-class displays with the world’s leading software and hardware specialists, the partnership with Glamox brings a premium all-inclusive total installation solution to its partners and customers, for faster and more economical project completions.

Working with Glamox, PPDS is proud to now offer the firm’s advanced self-balancing three pivot Luxo Maximum arm, with its advanced range of dedicated 19” Philips Heartline Android TVs – designed and built exclusively for use in healthcare environments, including hospitals, surgeries and nursing homes.

Developed specifically for use with monitors and patient terminals, the Luxo Maximum arm is simple to install and made from heavy duty aluminium materials, offering long reach, perfect balance, and maximum vertical and horizontal movement, conforming to the exact positioning needs and requirements of the patient.

PPDS partners with TV mounting specialist Glamox to bring advanced comfort and personalised viewing experiences to hospital patientsAvailable in white and light grey colours as standard, Luxo Maximum keeps installations slick and stylish, with wiring built into the arm, allowing cabling with connectors be used without modification.

For peace of mind, Luxo Maximum comes with a five-year warranty and, installed correctly, will last for more than 30,000 cycles. Replacement and service is simplified via the internal cable duct, with covers removed easily while the arm is installed to minimise both service costs and down-time.

PPDS International Business Development Manager – Hospitality, Jeroen Verhaeghe, commented: “The Philips brand is renowned in the healthcare industry and, at PPDS, our drive is to support that, providing solutions that make a real difference, both to healthcare institutions and, crucially, the patients they serve. With our dedicated Philips Bedside TVs, we are ensuring patients are able to access, view and enjoy content in the same way they would at home, whether that’s casting their own content or choosing from an extensive choice of channels, games and apps. By partnering with Glamox, we help to ensure patients can enjoy that entertainment from our Philips Bedside TVs with the maximum levels of comfort, with displays able to be positioned to meet their precise viewing needs, rather than the other way around.”

He added: “For our partners, it means they can now offer their customers a complete TV and mounting installation solution, simplifying the buying process while saving time money for faster project completions.”

Maximum comfort, maximum choice

Philips Bedside TVs have been designed to meet the specialist needs and requirements of professional healthcare environments, including hygiene and electricity isolation, as well as entertainment and information services for the patient.

Whether in hospital for a day, week or longer term, the role of the TV can be an important one, impacting on a patient’s wellbeing, pain management and recovery rate*.

With Chromecast™ built-in as standard – allowing content to be streamed from a personal mobile device – Philips Bedside TVs offer extensive access to a wide choice of entertainment services, including TV and radio stations, thousands of apps via Google Play (including games, news, weather, YouTube), plus all your favourite streaming services. Patients can also have immediate access to personal medical and relevant information**, whether that’s who is on duty, their latest test results and treatments planned, or even what’s for dinner.

Complying with the strictest hygiene requirements, the Bedside TV is built to a medical grade standard, with JIS Z2801 compliant antimicrobial housing to impede the growth of common microorganisms, while its hydrophobic toughened glass front features an anti-fingerprint, water-repellent coating to help maintain hygiene levels. The displays also include Galvanic Isolation technology to safely manage and contain electricity, removing the risks of impacting surrounding equipment.

Verhaeghe concluded: “Partnering with specialist providers, like Glamox, adds even more value and convenience to our business and the partners we serve without compromise. Buying a display from us, and then spending time searching and researching for a mounting solution to fit is far from ideal. Our Total Solutions strategy, working with some of the world’s leading software and hardware providers, is helping to remove these time and cost frustrations. This is another important partnership for PPDS and our evolving strategy. We look forward to a long and prosperous relationship with Glamox.”
