Yale Forges New Partnerships to offer consumers an enhanced user experience
Yale is strengthening its position as a world leader in smart home security with new strategic partners to offer consumers enhanced convenience and security, and make Yale’s vision of in-home delivery and services a reality.
With more than one million smart locks sold in Europe alone, Yale is proud to be European and worldwide leader in smart locks for homes. Whilst a substantial 181 years of lock making history cements Yale as experts in security, new partnerships with Bosch Smart Home and Home Connect Plus will strengthen smart home offerings even further.
The integration of the Yale Linus Smart Lock into the Bosch Smart Home system allows it to be controlled via the Bosch Smart Home App and interact with existing Bosch Smart Home devices and services to make everyday life easier and safer for consumers.
Once integrated into the Bosch Smart Home system, the Linus Smart Lock will automatically activate the Bosch Smart Home alarm system when locked, via a simple “if-then” automation. In addition to automations, locking the door can trigger Bosch Smart Home scenarios. For instance, the “leaving home” scenario will cause multiple devices such as the Bosch Smart Home Plug or smart lighting solutions to be turned off.
For full peace of mind, timed actions can be used, automatically locking the door around bedtime and allowing users a safe and restful sleep. All while the Bosch Eyes outdoor camera keeps a sharp eye on all movement around the front door.
To ensure optimal operation between our Linus Smart Lock, the Bosch Smart Home alarm system and outdoor Camera, the accompanying “Access Control” service will soon be integrated in the Bosch Smart Home App, enabling a seamless transition between checking who is at the front door and opening the lock.
With Home Connect Plus, consumers can connect their Linus Smart Lock to different smart home devices, or whole systems from various brands. They can control all their devices centrally in the Home Connect Plus app to get even more value out of their smart home technology.
Alternatively, consumers can lock the door in the morning with the Linus® Smart Lock and Home Connect Plus can start an “Away” automation to reduce the heating to save energy, start the cleaning robot and security systems, and even switch off all lights simultaneously.
Thomas Moser, Vice President Yale & Smart Residential – EMEIA, welcomes these new collaborations which bolster the impressive list of Yale partnerships to date. “As a brand that’s committed to continuously improving its products, we are delighted to add Bosch Smart Home, and Home Connect Plus systems. At a time when consumer demand for interoperability between brands has never been so strong, together we are offering consumers a seamless user experience.”
The consumer IOT sector is growing significantly, in Europe alone it is predicted that smart home revenue will more than double between 2020 and 2025 (from approximately EUR 17 billion to approximately EUR 38.1 billion.)* As Yale continues to pioneer new and exciting security technology, it is clear that working with other expert brands is the best way to achieve interoperability and scale for growth.
“As well-established brands in the technology sector, we believe that together Yale, Bosch Smart Home and Home Connect Plus will add great value to everyday lives. With our combined expertise in door locks and smart home security, we are developing unified technologies, and products for consistent user experiences across all of our markets,” says Thomas Moser.
Yale’s vision of offering an in-home delivery and services platform has accelerated over the past 18 months as consumer shopping habits have changed. In fact, over 290 million consumers in Europe shopped online in 2020, with a recent study indicating that a large share opt for ‘home delivery in the daytime’ as their preferred delivery method.
Demand for safe, secure and convenient access to our homes for deliveries and in-home services is more pertinent than ever and so the launch of Yale In-Home is a welcomed response. Thanks to Yale’s in-home services, consumers won’t have to worry about having to stay at home to collect a package or missing the delivery and going through the time consuming task of travelling to an inconvenient pick-up location.
Yale In-Home is an access platform to allow consumers to manage delivery and home services on their terms. With the focus on key areas: grocery, parcel delivery, home care, holiday rental and in-home services.
“We are very excited to launch Yale In-home, today we have a number of active trials in Sweden, Norway, UK, Benelux and the USA. We also will go live with Postnord parcel delivery in selected areas of Stockholm this autumn, it is an evolution of smart home access and security,” concludes Thomas.
