AirPods/AirPods Pro
There are now a few choices when it comes to AirPods and your budget will probably decide which ones are right for you.
You can currently choose from the cheaper second-generation AirPods, the third-generation AirPods, or the costlier AirPods Pro.
The main difference between the AirPods Pro and the second or third-generation AirPods is the Active Noise Cancellation. If you need noise cancellation with your wireless earbuds, then you only have one choice.
If you’re on a budget, however, the second-generation AirPods are more than serviceable.
Sony WF-1000XM4
Sony’s WF-1000XM4 headphones retail at a similar price to the AirPods Pro and also come with noise cancellation.
They also boast 24 hours of battery life (though in reality and with constant use, this is lower) and optimisation for Alexa and Google Assistant.
If you’re on a budget but are set on Sony, the WF-C500 wireless earbuds offer slightly less battery life and a lot of the same functionality for a fraction of the price. However, this entry-level model does not come with any noise cancellation.
Sennheiser Momentum True Wireless 3
The Sennheiser Momentum True Wireless 3 earbuds are slightly more expensive than the Sony WF-1000XM4 and the AirPods Pro but boast a longer battery life, adaptive noise cancellation, and some sharp colour options (black, graphite, or white).
The noise cancellation is what you’d expect for the price, but the main reason you’d go for these earbuds is the sound quality. If you want a treat for your ears and your budget allows for it, these are the earbuds to choose.
Beats Fit Pro
These Beats earbuds are both stylish and a step up from the affordable Beats Studio Buds, which remain a good option for those looking for noise cancellation on a budget.
As with the others at this price range, expect true noise cancellation, a built-in microphone, compatibility with voice assistants, and good battery life.
Bang & Olufsen Beoplay EX
In terms of price, the Bang & Olufsen Beoplay EX wireless earbuds are a step up, but they’re also a step up in terms of build quality, noise cancellation, and sound.
They’re more water-resistant than the others on this list and also offer dust resistance.
